What Should I Write About?

This is always the first question our clients ask us when we begin working with them to be consistent, add
great content weekly, if not daily, to their blog or website. One of your content goals should be to raise
the engagement factor and create relationships with your fans, followers and website visitors. Here’s just a few ideas
you may want to incorporate into your daily writing routine.

1) Write about your Niche or Industry. Your experiences and your take always.
Everyone has life experiences good and bad…so write about them. If you’ve held the job
for a period of time, then you could easily create a series of articles, and turn it into
an eBook or Kindle book. Plan out your chapters and make it an autobiography journey through
the years and tell about how you grew into each role you’ve held.

2) For travel writers, this one is easy. Take a trip, planned or spontaneous and journal your time away.
Tell all about where, when, why and how you ended up going to your destination. Bring your readers closer
to the local flavor of your destination and if you’ve learned any secrets, that would help others enjoy this experience,
then make them available in your article or book. Travel writing or blogging is fun and fulfilling.

3) Write about your hobbies. People love to learn more about different hobbies that others enjoy and learn why
and what the benefits are to picking up a new hobby. Share your knowledge, what you’ve learned to do well,
and also share some of the mistakes you may have made when you first started the hobby. If you’ve been able
to also make money with your hobbies, be sure to give your readers some information and ideas on how it may
also work for them.

4) Write about your biggest regret in your life. Some people will be drawn to these stories about what if……
Did you not accept a job that you maybe should have and you regret that decision. Did you decide not to get married, or
not to have children, or move to a city. Tell your story and go on a deep level as to why and where you are
today because of your decision. By writing about the #1 biggest regret, you may find potential future ideas
to reinvent yourself at the same time.

5) Interview business associates and compile their advice into a book for up and coming entrepreneurs.
You could also have your pod cast interviews transcribed to become your book. Interview these experts and
gleam their insight, knowledge and skills to share with your audience in your new book.

There are so many things you can write about, this is a very short list and meant to just give you a glimpse
into blogging and writing.
