Ask Yourself, Are My Social Media Profiles Set Up Properly?
Maybe it’s time to take another look at your profile content on the mail social media channels you use for your business.
WHICH NETWORKS ARE FOR ME?
Make sure you are utilizing the 3 or 4 main channels where most of your potential clients, guests frequent.
Be certain to have a Facebook presnece, and then choose 2 of the other big ones, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Slideshare or You Tube.
It’s impossible to think that you can be on all these and do a good job engaging with followers comments and responding to questions. That’s why we recommend starting out with just 3 or 4. You won’t get overwhelmed and you will reach more people in your target market. If you are a professional coach, then you definitely need to have a presence on LinkedIn and Facebook and perhaps Google+. If you have an online fashion store, then Instagram and Pinterest make great choices, as they are mostly photo driven social media sites.
YOUR PROFILE NAME
When you are setting up your profiles, try to get the same name for each one. It will be easier for you to remember if they are similar and it will also be easier for friends, and followers to find you an all the channels you are using for your business.
YOUR AVATAR
An avatar, is the way that people will recognize you in their feeds, so please don’t have a different avatar on each social media! Keep them common across all the sites you are using. This way people will get used to seeing that beautiful face and remember who you are. Generally, it is best to have a real photo of you for your avatar. And never leave your avatar blank.
DESCRIPTION
Use a similar description on each social media network to keep your profiles in line with each other. Use Keywords, and make the most out of the space allowed per channel by describing what you do and why they would want to follow you. Alway include a link to your website that they can visit to learn more.
